What you need before you start your TDAC: a checklist

Everything the Thailand Digital Arrival Card asks for, from passport details to your accommodation address, so you can gather it before you begin.

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card takes a little while to fill in, and most of that time goes on looking things up: a booking reference here, a hotel address there. If you gather everything first, the form itself is a calm, steady job. This checklist follows the fields on the official form, in the order it asks for them.

You can fill in the official TDAC yourself at tdac.immigration.go.th. Everything below applies whether you use the Thai site directly or a service that fills it in for you.

Before anything else

  • Your passport, the one you'll travel with. Every name and number must match it.
  • Your travel booking: flight confirmation, or the details of the bus, train, car or boat that brings you into Thailand.
  • Your accommodation booking, or the full address of where you'll stay.
  • An e-mail address you can open on your phone. The card is sent there.
  • The right moment. The card can only be sent from three days before your arrival date. Our guide to the 3-day window explains how to count it.

All details must be typed in English, using Latin letters.

Personal information

The first page is about you. The form asks for:

  • Family name, first name and, optionally, middle name, exactly as in your passport. The name fields accept only the letters A to Z. If you have no family name, the form's note says to enter a dash.
  • Passport number.
  • Nationality, as shown in your passport.
  • Date of birth.
  • Gender.
  • Occupation, in a few plain words, for example teacher or retired.
  • Country or territory of residence, and city or state of residence. This is where you live now, which may not be the country on your passport.
  • Phone number, with the country calling code.
  • Visa number, only if you have one. The field is optional.

If you live in Thailand long term, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai consulates advise choosing Thailand as your country of residence.

Your trip

The second page starts with how you're arriving:

  • Date of arrival, the date in Thailand when you land or cross the border.
  • Country or territory where you boarded.
  • Purpose of travel. The form offers a list: holiday, meeting, sports, business, incentive, medical and wellness, education, convention, employment, exhibition, or others, where you type a few words.
  • Mode of travel: air, land or sea.
  • Mode of transport, which depends on the mode of travel. For air, you choose between commercial flight, private or cargo airline, and others.
  • Flight or vehicle number, up to 20 characters.

The departure section (when and how you'll leave) is optional, so you can skip it if your return isn't booked.

Where you'll stay

The accommodation part asks for:

  • Type of accommodation: hotel, youth hostel, guest house, friend's house, apartment, or others.
  • Province, chosen from Thailand's 77 provinces. Bangkok counts as one of them.
  • District and sub-district. These are needed when the place isn't a hotel.
  • Post code, which the form fills in from the district.
  • Address. For a hotel, the hotel's name and street are usually what you'll have from your booking.

Health declaration

The last part asks which countries or territories you stayed in during the two weeks before you arrive. Depending on those countries, your nationality, where you boarded and your flight, the form may then ask:

  • whether you have a yellow fever vaccination certificate, and the date of vaccination
  • whether you've had any of a list of symptoms in the past two weeks

If you've recently been somewhere with yellow fever, have your vaccination certificate with you.

Travelling with others

Each traveller needs their own card, including infants and children. One person can submit for others: the TDAC user guide allows up to 10 people in a group submission. Gather everyone's passport before you begin, because each person's details must match their own passport.

If you'd like help

calmvisa is an independent service, not affiliated with the Thai government. We ask for the same details in plain language, one small screen at a time, with hints for each field, show you everything on one page to check, then fill in the Thai form for you. Our step-by-step guide to the form explains each field if you're doing it yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my return flight details?

No. The departure section of the form is optional, so you can leave it empty if you haven't booked your way out yet.

What if I don't have a hotel booked yet?

The accommodation type, province and address are required, so you'll need to know where you'll stay before you can submit the card.

Do I have to answer the health questions?

Listing the countries you stayed in during the last two weeks isn't mandatory, but list any you did stay in. The yellow fever and symptom questions appear only for some travellers, and when they do, they must be answered before you can continue.

Can I fill in the card for my children?

Yes. Each child needs their own card, and a parent or guardian can fill it in. Up to 10 people can be included in one group submission.
